Starting from his first job in his parents’ fish ‘n’ chip shop, Steve has held the same principles throughout his career in digital and creative recruitment: build a great team, provide great quality and enjoy a great laugh that lets people feel they’re part of a family. It was these principles that led him to co-found Superstars, a recruitment company where he could really put them into practice.
A positive attitude and willingness to embrace challenges are key to Steve’s professional outlook. Whether working with brand design agencies or in-house teams in large organisations, his focus is on understanding what makes people happy and why they make the career and life choices that they do. He really wants not only to make a difference in the lives and careers of the people he represents, but also to change for the better the way the recruitment business works.
He’s a KindredHQ spirit because he realized that both his own values and the aspirations he has for others are not always compatible with the traditional recruitment agency model. And by founding an agency of his own, he’s aiming to change that model forever.
KindredHQ caught up with him to talk about setting up on his own, why he feels so ridiculously happy and what makes his world go round.
