Meet Jessica Chivers @ Sandwich Sessions

Jessica’s a dab hand at helping both freelancing entrepreneurial spirits and wage-slaves with children get on with gratifying work whilst keeping things smooth at home. She’s the author of Mothers Work!: How to Get a Grip on Guilt and Make a Smooth Return to Work(Hay House, 2011) and most recently, founder of The Talent Keeper Specialists (www.talentkeepers.co.uk). She’s worked for herself for nine years (also see www.jessicachivers.com) and is married to a freelancer who she regularly scratches her head with as they ponder what it would take for organisations to cotton onto ‘freelance-style’ employees.

MOTHERS WORK_coverYou can ask her about what she means by that at the sandwich session she’s hosting on Wednesday 23rd October at Busworks. The theme is combining work with children and Jessica will run a solutions-focused session which gets into the nitty-gritty of how each of us can and do make it work (or not) as well as sharing her own experiences and ideas from her book. If you’re a parent, especially to little ones, you’ll be delighted you came.

Who is Alex Butler

Hello, I'm Alex Butler and I founded the KindredHQ community and blog back in 2011 after I re-started a freelance career. I LOVE freelancing and I wouldn't swop the freedom, control and joy of working for myself for anything. But I realised how much I missed the company and energy of other people - of having a team around me. So, I got a few people together one day with our laptops, a jar of coffee and some jelly babies and we sat and worked together one afternoon. We've been doing that every week in London, UK since then! I am still 100% freelance and I like to share the everyday highs and lows of being a freelancer here on the blog.
