We spend a lot of time thinking about how we can secure new clients and projects that we enjoy, but all too often, having got a new client, we put them in control of the relationship. It’s as if they speak a different language.
A happy client will often hire you again and recommend you to others. But some clients aren’t that easy to work with. Good practice with clients can help you deal with difficult people, negotiate a rate that reflects your expertise and help you enjoy your work. After all, that’s why you are your own boss!
